Bryan Singer Talks XMEN APOCALYPSE Subscribe Now! ► http://bit.ly/SubClevverMovies X-Men Apocalypse isn't expected to hit theaters until 2016, but fanboys, you can start preparing yourself now for the many updates from director Bryan Singer. While we all try to contain our fanboy excitement for this summer's X-men: Days of Future Past, director Bryan Singer is teasing us with details on the sequel, X-Men Apocalypse . In an interview with Total Film, Singer opened up about his plans for the follow up film, saying that it will take place in the 80's (which makes sense chronologically since Days of Future Past is set in the 70's) and that it will apparently have much more mass destruction than we've seen in some of the other X-Men films. On the topic of destruction, Singer said quote "There's definitely now a character and a story that allow room for that kind of spectacle. Singer also revealed that while it will be a contemporary-ish movie (that is if you are like me and feel like the 80's are totally contemporary) the creative team are going to quote "deal with the notion of ancient mutants-the fact they were born and existed thousands of years ago." Singer and X2 screenwriters Dan Harris and Michael Doughery along with studio head Simon Kinberg are working on the story-line. Total Film asked about which characters we will see back in the sequel, beyond of course the First Class characters. Singer didn't want to give too much away but he did say that because the next movie will also be what he calls an in-betweenquel they will be able to quote "introduce familiar characters in a younger time." And speaking of familiar characters in another time, there is an online petition out there that an X-Men fan started to try and get Hollywood newcomer and Oscar winner Lupita Nyongo to take over Storm duties from Halle Berry. And to get the interesting update on that, you should definitely click right here. So, what are your thoughts so far on Bryan Singer's ideas for X-Men Apocalypse?
